It seems like Apple’s new iPad 2 jailbreak is still have long way to go. Today, iPhone Dev-Team has released couple of jailbreak tools to make untethered jailbreak possible on iOS 4.3.3 firmware running devices which includes iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G and iPad 1 only. PwnageTool for Mac, Redsn0w for Mac and Windows both and Sn0wbreeze for Windows (similar as PwnageTool) has updated to new versions to supports over the iOS 4.3.3 and iOS 4.2.8 firmwares, also Ultrasn0w new version came out earlier to unlock the iPhones after jailbreaking on iOS 4.3.3 firmware. But what about the iPad 2 jailbreak?
According to the official iPhone Dev-Team blog, they have share with us what goes wrong straight from the start, more over below.
The iPad2 jailbreak remains under development. As you may know, the original exploit @comex developed in the first week of the iPad2 release was mysteriously fixed by Apple within days of its development. Partly because of this, don’t expect much public discussion of the iPad2 jailbreak until it’s actually finished and ready for release (and please avoid asking about it). In all liklihood, it will be a userland exploit like the first (unreleased) one, not dependent on bootrom dumps. The first one can’t be released even for those with the original 4.3 firmware due to legal (distribution) reasons.
